Garcia said “We were great for seconds on end.” I was lucky to see Jerry play for about 1,000,000 seconds exactly. Thanks for your 1,000,000 views here . Dave Davis wrote this blog for 500 posts and 5 years from 2015 to 2019. Contact me at twitter @gratefulseconds

Fare Thee Well Day Two: July 4, 2015

The middle show of the three was the 1980s show with the dissident Golden Road as an added highlight.

This was fun, we finally figured out how to get out of the stadium in under an hour and we waved that flag. The first three songs of Shakedown, Liberty and Standing on the Moon moved us into 1979 and the 1980s for the Fare Thee Well series.  While I consider the rest of the first set the weakest portion of the weekend. However, Bird Song and Golden Road was a fabulous second set opening, and the great 1980-era Sailor/Saint and West LA were truly fun. Trey's take on Foolish Heart gave us a 1988-1991 warm and comfy feeling and Bobby took a great stab at Stella Blue, which paired with Days Between the next night, paid strong tribute to Mr Garcia up there in the sky looking down.  The rock n roll band came on and finished up with the expected OMSN and US Blues, with the Empire State Building playing a big role in the patriotic feeling at the end.  Great show again guys.
